Reconstruction

Reconstruction means to recreate something that is no longer there. It is often used to put back elements of a building or room that had been removed sometime during the life of the structure. Histor­ic pictures and other types of documentation are used to help ensure an accurate portrayal. It is essential there is a distinct difference, so future preservationists will recognize that the original.
