This Lead Safety for Renovation, Repair, and Painting web-based training course will teach you how to comply with the EPA Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule and the HUD Lead Safe Housing Rule, and how to perform lead-safe work practices safely and effectively.

 

Should I use a specific browser to take this course?
Any modern browser should work fine for this course.  However, if you have issues with links or videos you should make sure that the “Zoom” feature of your browser is set to the default value of 100{cc29ba0cf60691a2c511fc0992fc35e8c58e2b5faae16b0123a2f1f2164a2bff}.

 

How do I navigate throughout the course?
Navigating this course should be straight forward. After you have completed a page of the content click the Next button in the lower right-hand corner to proceed. It is okay to complete the course in multiple sessions. You can always navigate back to main course using the dropdown or by using the breadcrumbs

On the main course overview you can review your progress before exiting the course. To leave the course Just Click on Log Out on the top left – you will be redirected to the front-page. If you leave the course and return later, your progress is saved and you will have the option to continue where you left off upon return.

Please make sure that pop-up blockers are turned off in your browser. Otherwise, you may experience difficulty in opening additional resources used in the course (e.g., opening PDF documents).

Is the graphics interactive?
Some of the graphics throughout the course are interactive. Follow the instructions on the page to effectively use the animated graphics or play the videos.

Will I be asked review questions?
Review questions are asked at the end of each module.  When you are ready to answer a review question, make a selection and then click the Submit button. A feedback box will indicate whether the answer was correct or not.

 

Course Completion
In addition to the review questions at the end of each module, you will have to pass a Final Assessment that can be taken after you complete all of the chapters in this course. The course will not be marked as completed in your training record until you achieve a score of 80{cc29ba0cf60691a2c511fc0992fc35e8c58e2b5faae16b0123a2f1f2164a2bff} or better on the Final Assessment. If you score below 80{cc29ba0cf60691a2c511fc0992fc35e8c58e2b5faae16b0123a2f1f2164a2bff}, you will be directed to review any course material that may be unclear prior to re-taking the Final Assessment.

Each student should print a copy of the student manual. The student manual can be accessed at:

 

 

This manual includes visuals used in the course and the student notes.  The student manual also has appendices, which includes a copy of the Steps to LEAD SAFE Renovation, Repair, and Painting, which can be used on the job to teach non-certified workers how to work lead-safe.
